Emily Kahnert DPT, CCTT received her Physical Therapy degree from the University of Minnesota in 2005 and has exclusively treated cervical spine, headache, and temporomandibular joint and muscle disorders since 2006. She also serves as adjunct faculty for the University of Minnesota Program in Physical Therapy, providing the TMJ portion of the DPT coursework. Emily is an APTA-Credentialed Clinical Instructor, and has participated in providing Continuing Education for dentists through the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. She also provides Continuing Education for the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine regarding rehabilitation for patients experiencing side effects from oral appliance therapy. As a cellist with a BA music degree from St. Olaf College, Emily also has a special interest in treating musicians.

Emily has a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration, and worked extensively with TMJ specialists, neurologists and health psychologists providing patient care at the Minnesota Head and Neck Pain Clinic for 13 years before returning to the University of Minnesota. She began work toward a PhD in Rehabilitation Science at the University of Minnesota in August 2019, studying the effectiveness of telerehabilitation for individuals with TMD. She provides clinical care in the University of Minnesota Division of TMD and Orofacial Pain at the TMD, Orofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine Clinic.
