PTBCCT Code of Conduct
The Code of Conduct of The Physical Therapy Board of Craniofacial & Cervical Therapeutics (PTBCCT) is designed to encourage professionalism among the members of the Organization and service to the profession and the patient.
Physical Therapists who have passed the specialist certification examination, developed by the PTBCCT, are designated as Certified Cervical & Temporomandibular Therapist (CCTT).
It is understood that CCTTs:
- May describe their status only as “CCTT.”
- Shall not use the official title in contributing to or participating in proprietary enterprises relating to journalism or commerce. CCTTs are expected to promote and endorse well designed research, education, evidence- based healthcare and teaching.
- Shall have their CCTT status revoked:
- Upon being judged in violation of the Principles of Ethics by the governing body of the American Physical Therapy Association or an equivalent professional organization.
- Upon conviction of a crime which brings discredit to the status of CCTT or the profession.
- For failure to participate in continuing education in the field in order to renew and fulfill the required annual CEUs as outlined by the PTBCCT CEU Policy.
- For disseminating or causing to be disseminated any form of public communication containing false, fraudulent, defamatory, threatening, misleading, or deceptive statements or claims for the purpose of intimating, inducing directly or indirectly, the rendering of the professional services for which the CCTT is licensed.
- For engaging in conduct, which violates the fundamental objectives of the PTBCCT and which, if allowed, would thwart those objectives or bring the Board into disrepute.
